My head cocked toward the sky,I cannot get off the ground,
and, you, passing over again,
fast, perfect, and unwilling
to tell me that you are doing
well, or that it was mistake
that placed you in that world,
and me in this; or that misfortune
placed these worlds in us.

Also, a great interview by Charles Simic in the new issue of The Paris Review, excerpted here.
In search of hiking yesterday, I drove to a part of Lolo Nat'l Forest. The mountains pictured below are just outside a part of the national forest land, taken on my drive back. My camera took great liberty in distorting the colors, apparently. But it made for an interesting sky color, I think, so I'll post it. I took the picture shown above along my walk in the forest. The growths hanging off the branches are called "goats beard". They are harmless host plants that grow off other trees. They blow in the wind quite nicely. A bear encounter warning was posted for the path of forest I chose. Of course, I didn't catch sight of one. I didn't catch sight of people, either.
Of grammatical note: Yesterday, in one of my searches through The Elements of Style to understand what the #@$*% a "participle" really is ( a verb functioning as an adj.), I came upon this entry. I was not aware!
Omit initial A or The from titles when you place the possessive before them:
ex. A Tale of Two Cities ---> Dickens' Tale of Two Cities

You shouldn't go hiking alone, friend. Take a neighbor.
They post signs about bears, and how walking in groups is a better deterent. I say, bring on the grizzlies. I walk alone.
