On the road... to Chicago

City # 2: Chicago.

a. On I-90 between Cleveland and Chicago.
Oxymoron of the day. Please note name of city, state.

b. Are you really allowed to number exits with a non-number? Poor Exit 0 residents.

c. Tractor-trailers have the best inventions on board. Boot Brush? Wish I'd thought of that.

d. This, part of a mural we found while wandering, wandering, wandering the U of Chicago area.

Don't we all feel this way sometimes? Maybe a circle isn't so bad. You can see the same things a few times over. Walk a couple blocks, go up a street, walk some more. In fact, walking is all we ended up doing for the evening. Beautiful U of C campus. Oh, academia, you're fun.

Day # 3.
Driving into downtown Chicago. Rain, rain and more rain. This reminds me. 104.3 FM in Chicago treated us to an eclectic variety of morning travel music. Highlight: Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light". Playlist also included Nelly Frutado, the Boss, some 80s pop... I have a lot of respect of independent, keep-you-guessing radio stations. It kept me entertained well out of Chicago, on the way to Milwaukee.

Saw Millennium Park, Grant Park. I like a city with fantastic outdoor art. Lots of steel. Shiny, industrial steel. Accented by awesome landscaping, urban character and busy intersections. I enjoyed. Thanks Katie, for being a Windy City tour guide. After dropping Katie off at Union Station, I continued on to WI.
